Commonly Asked Questions
It’s normal to have some questions when you are looking to get junk removed. Let’s take a look at some frequently asked questions. Your question may be the same or similar to those already asked here. If you have a different question or would like us to go into more detail about one of these questions, please contact us. We are here to make this process simple and as straight forward as possible.
What do you take?
In general, we take anything two people can carry and that is not considered hazardous waste. We also do light demolition and remove Sheds, Decks, and Fences.
Common items include:
- Household waste
- Refrigerators and Freezers
- Mattresses, boxsprings, and beds
- Furniture such as couches, loveseats, recliners, tables, chairs, bookcases, dressers, filing and cabinets.
- TVs
- Exercise equipment
- Electronics
- Pianos
- Grills
- Hot tubs
- Swing sets
- Trampolines
- Construction waste
What don’t you take?
We don’t take anything that is considered hazardous. Chemicals, solvents, oil, oil containers, propane tanks and paint cans are common household items that are hazardous.
Additionally, we cannot take items that two people cannot carry or that will not fit in our trucks. Items like boats, campers, trailers, and old cars would fall into this category.
How do you charge for junk removal?
Usually, we charge by the amount of space your stuff takes up in our truck. When you call us, we can give you an idea of how much your job might cost. If you have us out for a “Free, No Obligation” quote, we will give you a final quote that will not change if you have us perform the work. Our pricing is published HERE if you would like to see it.
Some items are not priced by volume. Items like hot tubs and pianos have their own special pricing.
Additionally, items that are very heavy such as dirt, rocks, and concrete are priced by weight.
What is your minimum pick-up?
We can pick up just one item. We remove single items everyday. Common single items that we pick up are couches, refrigerators, freezers, and pianos (just to name a few).
How many people come to perform the work?
Our crews consist of two people. Sometimes we send over two crews for larger jobs or very heavy items such as large pianos.
Will you go anywhere in the house or yard?
Yes. That is our service, we get the stuff from where it is and throw it away so you don’t have to.
Do we have to do anything?
No. Our service is that we do all the work. Your only job is to let us know what you would like removed. We do all the heavy lifting sorting and disposing!
What if we are not home?
We can perform outside work if you are not home. We will call when we arrive and we will take before and after pictures to show you what was completed. Also, we can go into vacant homes that have a lock box. However, we will not go into your home if you are not present.
Are you insured?
Absolutely! We are covered by Ohio Workers’ Compensation and $2 million of general liability insurance. Our crews carry copies of our policies with them and we are happy to show them to anyone that asks.
What do you do with the stuff?
We do our best to find a home for items that are still in good shape. We have a warehouse where we can store some of the nicer items we find. When we get word that someone is need, we find and donate that item if possible. The best advice we can give someone that believes they have valuable items is to find a local charity that will come pick up the items for free. An example in Cleveland would be the Cleveland Furniture Bank. See our blog post on this subject (https://www.ohiojunkforce.com/blog/how-to-save-money-and-get-rid-of-your-junk-for-free/).
What forms of payment do you take?
We accept cash, checks and all major credit cards. We only collect payment after the work is performed and you are fully satisfied with the work.
Do you offer discounts? Military, elderly, cash, etc.
We offer discounts for Military and Elderly. Mention that when you call to schedule an appointment! We do not offer discounts for cash. We accept all forms of payment equally to make it easy for you!
Can you go to apartments on upper floors?
Absolutely! We help people in apartments and condos everyday, regardless of the floor!
Do you work weekends or evenings?
We work 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Saturday.
